The real world? to be honest, I see some similarity with the 16-bit 32-bit transition. We all first slowly bought new hardware (that happened to be 32-bits), en first still ran 16-bit OS-es on it....

They are defined in the Windows.pas unit. Use this documentation to learn how they work, then use them from Delphi the same way you would in visual basic or c++.

HTML doesn't have tabs. Positioning can be done either with HTML tables or CSS, but there's no easy way to catch that in tab characters.
