I had a similar problem with flicker drawing a TDateTimePicker in a TDBGrid. I added a SetFocus in the event that draws the TDateTimePicker and the flicker went away. Not elegant, but a quick fix.

Download the Acrobat SDK from adobe (it's just a set of pdf's) and you can do this very easily via IAC (read up about this in the PDF's of the SDK) Makes it very easy to control Acrobat from Delphi....

I found out what the problem was. The field type was a red herring, so I omitted that. The fix is to specify the size of the data being submitted to the ODBC database (eg the length of the text)...

Absolutely I would go with SQL server, especially 2005 Express advanced edition with full text indexing. Messing around with Access databases is not a good way to go as you are limiting your product....
