Default ADODataset, does not locate case-sensitive records.

Hi All.
Adodataset(Adoquery, Adoquery) does not locate the case sensitive records. It always locate the first matching record and ignores the case of the text.

e.g.

If I have data like

abc
ABC

and want locate ABC, but locate method always locate abc.

I have checked this in Delphi 5, Delphi2007 and DelphiXE2 but all returns the same result.

I am not sure if its a bug in Delphi.

Please help me on this.

I think the problem is with Find function (MS ADO API). Locate internally calls Find. I have tested the same with C#, it also behaves same as Delphi.
If anyone have any idea to get ride of this please share.

Depending on the database this could easily be a database setting
For example, MSSQL has such a setting (don't ask me what at the moment) which is by default case-insensitive

Thanks Norrit. I think you are talking about Collation property. But I think by changing this, other part of the application may get affected. I am facing this problem at one place only so I am thinking to implement traversal based solution if there no other direct solution available.
