Default "Abstract Error" message

Hello,

I have 2 forms. frmEntry calls frmMain. In frmMain there is a TNoteBook. If its PageIndex is set to 0, I get an error: "Abstract Error" (when the application finishes loading). If PageIndex is set to 1, 2... it works fine. Why????

P.S. The debugger doesn't help. :-(

Please help!
Thanks.

abstract errors usually accur if you forget to write a function which is implemented virtually in a base class. Do you use virtual functions?

sorry, I meant abstract functions... If so, it might be that there's an abstract function in the base class which has not yet been implemented. Did you inherit any components/forms for other classes?

Hello,

I don't use abstract functions (I don't know exactly what you mean, but I don't have the abstract word in my code).

I tried to start the program when notNoteBook.PageIndex=1 and then a timer (interval=1500) which goes back to notNoteBook.PageIndex=0 and it worked fine.

Any clues??
Please help!

Hi,

After spending a lot of time, I found what the problem was. It was Borland's bug. Here is what I did.

1) I started my program to make sure that the error still occurs.
2) I changed the Mask of my TFileListBox from *.bmp;*.jpg back to Col???.bmp;Col???.jpg (it was one of my yesterday's changes).
3) I ran the program and it worked!
4) I changed the Mask back, and I got this "Abstract Error".

It is a bug for sure. I want to report it to Borland, but I don't know where I should do it. Please help me with it.

Thanks!
