Default Is it possible to access *.mdb without ado ?

I want to build a very small database in Access that
I will need to use SQL Queries on. Can this be done with
using the ADO ? Thanks

You can use plain old ODBC but it still requires that (part of) MDAC is installed on the client computer. Since ADO has more features (among others, currency support) and is more reliable, I suggest you stick to it.

Does the typical install of Win 98 B have enough MDAC components required to use the ODBC for access to *.mdb ?
If not do you know where you can download just the required portion ? Thanks Again

Complete MDAC components come with Windows 2000 and ME. Part of it, or older versions, come with MsExplorer or MsOffice.

You may (and should) download the latest version of MDAC (currently 2.60.6526.3) at www.microsoft.com/data
